Jarra's on Hawthorne! Best food in town! Nice owners. The ambience isn't special, and it's definitely not a place to see or be seen, but the food couldn't be better. It is never crowded, which is, IMO, a very good thing. Don't go here if you are in a hurry as service is slow.

Second favorite is probably Blossuming Lotus on NW Davis. Lots and lots of really great vegan food. Deliousness abounds! Sort of cramped, but the food is worth it. Good people watching, friendly staff.

first favorite is pok pok on division cuz every single thing is just so freakin yummy and second is kens artisan pizza on 28th (i think?) cuz pizza fresh out of a brick oven is pure heaven.

I have many favorite restaurants, so I'll write about my favorite two for comfort food.

Pearl Bakery- they have the BEST PB & J sandwiches in town. Yes, I said PB & J. You can get a whole one for like $3. I don't know what it is- if it's the bread, or the perfect amounts of jelly and PB, but it's great.

The other is a chain--Noodles and Company. I know, they're not local, but there are advantages to having multiple locations of a place that serves the best Mac and Cheese (add blackened chicken, and it is to die for).

Those two restaurants are best for comfort foods--and making me sound like I have the palate of a four-year-old...lol.

Okay I LOVE Jin Wah on 4021 SW 117th Ave (okay technically it's Beaverton but it is so good it has to count!) They have wonderful dim sum carts every day and their salt and pepper squid is 2 dye 4!

Second favorite restaurant is the Skyline Diner on Skyline and Cornell. Best burger and fries in the Pacific Northwest and maybe the whole west coast. AMAZING burgers. If you haven't tried it yet you must. Their salmon burgers are just great too. Also, I love the diner atmosphere.

By FAR, my favorite place is Mio Sushi. I never was a huge sushi fan, but you can NOT go wrong there. We get different stuff every time (which is every weekend or every other weekend)along with our staples (our favorites are the Atlantic Roll and the Double Crunch Roll)and it is always FABULOUS! It's small and there's always at least a 10-minute wait, but so worth it. First choice was easy. Second choice might be Montage. They have a very cool atmosphere, communal tables, and even turn your leftovers into tin-foil works of art. Try the mac and cheese and oyster shooters there- divine.
